The Armor of God

It’s important to get dressed when you get up in the morning. Make sure you put on the correct clothing.

Ephesians 6:11-18

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and  supplication for all saints;

Lord, thank You for another day! I realize that it is a gift from You. I don’t deserve it, but I am truly thankful for another day. I want to serve You to the best of my ability today, but to do that I must be fully protected from the attacks of the enemy. So, in obedience to Your Word, I will put on the whole armor of God.

Helmet of Salvation – God, let the helmet of salvation be strapped so tightly over my mind that nothing can distract me. Let it cover my thinking so completely that not one thought can slip out from under it and drift into places that are neither pleasing to You nor healthy for me. Let it be so tightly in place that not one evil or negative thought can creep under that helmet into my mind. According to Romans 12:2, don’t let me be conformed to this world’s thinking, but let me be transformed by the renewing of my mind. Let the mind that is in You be in me. Let me think the way You think. Speak to me today in my mind. I want the Holy Ghost to take every thought into captivity today. I want You to be the overseer of my mind. According to Philippians 4:8, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, let me think on these things.

Breastplate of Righteousness – Lord, let me be covered with the breastplate of righteousness today. Not my righteousness because it is as filthy rags. My righteousness is self-righteousness, and the end of that is death. Let me be completely covered in Your righteousness so that none of me shows and only You are visible in my life today.

Belt of Truth – Lord, let my loins be girded with truth. Nothing is more valuable to You than truth. Everything hangs on the belt of truth, so don’t let any deceit be found in me today. Let me speak truth and not lies. Let my actions be honest in every way. Let me be a protector of truth, not compromising in any area of my life. Let me proclaim truth to everyone that I meet, and let me preserve truth so that I can pass it on to the next generation.

Feet Shod with the Gospel of Peace – Lord, let me put on my gospel shoes today. Everywhere that I go, let me seek an opportunity to spread this great gospel. Let me be sensitive to those around me today who may be ready to hear the gospel. Put me in the path of hungry hearers. Give me an open door, and once the door is open, give me an open mouth. Then give them an open heart.

Shield of Faith – Lord, allow me to pick up the shield of faith today. It is so important because I know that without faith it is impossible to please You. Help me to focus on faith. Enlarge my faith. Give me an aggressive faith, not a passive faith, but a faith that will not back down in the face of adversity and that will stand up in the face of the enemy and declare that victory is mine. Help my faith to be steadfast, unwavering, stable, and unflappable. Give me faith that truly believes that You will do what You said You would do in Your Word for anybody, anytime, and anywhere. Let my faith be grounded in You. Give me a faith that will quench every fiery dart that the devil shoots into my life, no matter where it comes from. Whether it is from without or from within, let my faith extinguish it on contact.

Sword of the Spirit – Lord, last but not least, let me pick up the sword of the Spirit so that i can run into the face of the enemy and be aggressive in my fight against hell. Let me be a skilled warrior with the sword, not just swinging it wildly which could damage innocent bystanders, but let me be skillful with it, knowing how to best use it to do damage to the enemy. I understand that this will take practice, so let me daily pick up Your Word and practice using it. Let me know where and when to use it so that it brings the most hurt to the kingdom of darkness. Like You used it in the wilderness to defeat the devil when You said, “It is written,” so let me use it as well.

Go in God – Now i am ready to make the best out of this wonderful day that You have blessed me with. I will be spiritually successful  today in Jesus’ Name!

Pour Out My Heart

**Taken from a page in my daily devotional book**

If you knew for a fact that God heard you every time you prayed, you’d be inclined to keep praying, right? If you were convinced that God caringly bent His ear your direction whenever you approached Him with something that was on your heart, you’d be more apt to come clean with Him. So why do we typically struggle to maintain a regular prayer time?

Maybe it’s related to questions we have about how prayer works. If God is really interested in what we have to say and if He actually listens to the cry of our heart, does He actually answer the prayers we offer up?

Scripture is definitive about this. It assures us that God answers every prayer we pray-every single one. His answers aren’t always the ones we’re expecting or hoping for. But He always responds. Sometimes God replies with yes, sometimes with no, sometimes with wait.

So don’t look at prayer as an obligation that you need to do to please God. Accept it as a wonderful privilege to pur out your heart to Someone who cares for you more than anyone else in the world.

Psalm 62:8 “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.”

Prayer for the day: It’s called “emptying prayer.” Take out a blank sheet of paper and write as fast as you can all the stuff in your heart about which you are concerned. Transfer the title of these worries to the Lord.

God’s Will

I John 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

In gaining clarity about who God is, His love for us, and His plans for our lives, we begin to pray that His will be done. When walking with God, and desiring the things He desires, we tend to pray for the things He wants us to have.

As women of God we must desire more of God. More than just enough to escape a fiery hell; to be saved from God’s wrath; to call ourselves Christians; to manage our guilt; to get a ticket to heaven; to squeak through heaven’s gate. There should be a longing for more than the bare minimum God has to offer. More than what people often settle for. To long for everything God wants to give us. To long for more than enough to bend our will to His; to awaken our consciences; to transform our mind; to conform us into His glorious image; to give us an abundant entrance into heaven.

In growing to this point in our walk with God, we can move from selfishly asking God for what we want. We begin to ask for what He wants. I had to get to a point in which I wasn’t afraid to say, “Lord, your will be done.” I was afraid of receiving a no for the things I desired most. God will give us our desires when we delight ourselves in Him, but He will do it in His own way and timing. Perspective Change: It took me understanding that He knows what’s best for me; knows me better than I know me; loves and cares for me like no other. Since then, things have been going better for me. I had to change my perspective of God and know that He has better plans for me than I do.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

I encourage each of you to begin to open up and allow God to work in your lives the way He wants to. When we allow God to conform our will to His, our desires are His and our prayers are answered. The scripture says that He hears us when we pray according to His will. Knowing that fact….we are able to obtain what we’re praying for. God loves each and every one of you and has good gifts to bestow in the lives of this children.

My prayer for you all is that you will move from a place of pain to power, from worry to worship, and from tears to a testimony. How do you get there? Change your perspective about God and His will for your life.
